This year marks the fifth time for We-Ko-Pa (located in Fort McDowell, Ariz.) and the third time that both The Legacy (located in Henderson, Nev.) and Sandia Golf Club (located in Albuquerque, N.M.) have been selected and as one of “The 100 Best Golf Shops in America,”. Each club submitted an application that included descriptions of sales initiatives, successful promotions and steps that were taken to overcome their largest challenge during the 2008 golf season. A detailed financial report was submitted to reflect annual revenue. The facilities also defined how they applied effective marketing practices to maximize revenue. Lastly, six photos were included to showcase the merchandise displays and overall layout within the golf shops. “When we’re honored with awards such as GolfWorld’s 100 Best Golf Shops, It’s important to recognize our staff for its part in making this happen,” said Phil Green, President of OB Sports Golf Management. “Their efforts lie at the heart of the sales numbers, they design and implement innovative promotions and they are in the golf shop every day providing excellent customer service.” We Ko Pa Golf Club is a daily fee golf facility that consists of the original 18 holes, the Cholla course, designed by Scott Miller and a second 18 holes, the Saguaro course, designed by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw. Sandia opened to rave reviews having been honored
as one of the “Top 10 New Courses You Can Play In The Country” by Golf
Magazine and winning the 2005 golf “Development of the Year” award from
