SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.Sanctuary Golf Course at Westworld was recently recognized by Zagat America’s Top Golf Courses 2007/2008 as one of the top “women-friendly” golf courses in the country.

In the Zagat Guide, editors recognized close to 100 golf courses around the country as being women-friendly, including nine in Arizona. Sanctuary’s sister course, Sedona Golf Resort, was also named a top women-friendly golf course by Zagat.

Sanctuary’s five sets of tees range from 4,096 yards to 6,624 yards and offer all golfers a variety of strategic options. With few forced carries off the tee and home to multiple women’s golf leagues, Sanctuary has been a popular golf course for female golfers since opening in 1999.

Nestled in the majestic foothills of the McDowell Mountains in Scottsdale, Sanctuary Golf Course at Westworld provides a natural alternative to ordinary golf. Randy Heckenkemper’s eco-sensitive layout takes advantage of natural terrain and vegetation and works under Audubon International Institute guidelines. Open since November 1999, this 6,624-yard, par-71 course features wetlands and cattails mixed with cactus and mesquite in a desert-golf oasis.
