Longbow GM Jay Larscheid Named To 2007 ‘Most Admired Operators’ List By Golf Inc. Magazine

Larscheid started at Longbow Golf Club as the head golf professional in 2001. Two years later, he was promoted to general manager.  Larscheid is responsible for the management of all day-to-day golf operations including staffing, golf instruction, merchandising, tee sheet management and tournament operations.  Larscheid also works closely with the golf course superintendent, food and beverage manager and marketing director to ensure that all aspects of the operation are up to par.  

With more than 20 years of experience in the golf industry, Larscheid most recently (87 – 01) was the head golf professional at McCormick Ranch Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.  During his tenure, he was responsible for all golf operations at the 36-hole, semi-private facility with more than 200 members and 100,000 rounds played per year.  Prior to McCormick Ranch, Larscheid began his golf career (81 – 85) at Elmwood Golf Course in Sioux Falls, South Dakota as an assistant golf professional.

Larscheid earned his bachelors degree from the University of South Dakota in 1984, and became a Class-A member of the Professional Golfers’ Association of America in 1997.  He continues to develop professionally through successful completion of ongoing training in the following disciplines:  rules, merchandising, scoreboard and calligraphy, sales and marketing, and budgeting.
