2009 Arizona Open “Green Day” Charity Event at Desert Mountain June 8

Desert Mountain's Apache CourseTo kick-off the 2009 Arizona Open, presented by the Southwest Section PGA, Monday, June 8  has officially been named “Green Day” at Desert Mountain’s Apache Course. The 2009 Arizona Open is June 11-13 at Desert Mountain's Apache Course.

The one-day 18-hole golf fundraiser, co-sponsored by the Cactus & Pine Golf Course Superintendents Association (C&PGCSA), will raise money for the Phoenix Children’s Hospital Foundation and the Golf Environmental Foundation of Arizona.

One hundred spots are available to the public. For a $100 entry fee participants will get the unique opportunity to play the private Jack Nicklaus-designed Apache Course in championship condition. 

They’ll also take home some terrific prizes and enjoy dinner and entertainment at Harold’s Cave Creek Corral. Sean Emerson, longtime superintendent at Desert Mountain and one of the country’s foremost agronomists, will represent Desert Mountain and the C&PGCSA. 

Harold’s (www.haroldscorral.com), the famous restaurant only a few minutes from Desert Mountain in Cave Creek, will host a memorable dinner, drinks and entertainment for all guests that evening.

Celebrating over 70 years of history and good times, it became Harold’s Cave Creek Corral in 1950 when local character Harold Gavigan purchased it. Harold’s features seating for 600 inside, 200 on an outside patio, two bars, and a large stage and dance floor.
