Oakcreek Country Club - Midwestern-style country club golf Print E-mail
Thursday, 10 July 2008

Oakcreek Country Club If you listen hard enough, you can almost hear the hoof beats when you drive up to the clubhouse at Oakcreek Country Club. Then you look around perhaps expecting to see Gary Cooper or Clint Eastwood riding over the incredible red rock formations that surround this gorgeous 6,824 yard, par 72 layout. But instead of seeing these award winning cowboy actors, you’ll get to meet the Jones’ as in Robert Trent Jones Senior and Junior, or to be more precise, their rare Arizona collaboration.

Besides what you hear, and see, you’ll be amazed by what you feel. Sedona’s far more temperate climate (compared to Phoenix, 90-minutes south) and the comfortable pace of a golf facility that’s a true “country club.” Oakcreek Country Club is not your typical desert-style resort course where the accent’s on the “resort.” Oakcreek is country club golf, and more accurately, Midwestern-style country club golf.

The Best in the West - Trilogy Golf Club at Vistancia Print E-mail
Tuesday, 08 July 2008

Trilogy Golf Club at Vistancia While golf courses have seemingly arisen like the mythological Phoenix throughout the Arizona desert giving golfers plenty of options to choose from, it’s often difficult to differentiate one desert layout from the next.

Trilogy Golf Club at Vistancia isn’t simply another Arizona golf course; it’s a completely unique golf experience in the Grand Canyon State. With tall and colorful indigenous grasses dotting the landscape, breathtaking panoramic vistas showcasing the area’s dramatic setting and rolling terrain, it’s no wonder Vistancia has had little trouble standing out among the crowd.

Vistancia is located at the foothills of Phoenix’s West Valley on the outskirts of the epicenters of Arizona’s population boom like Scottsdale, where a round of golf often comes with a hefty price tag. Vistancia’s prices are always reasonable, and there is a perfect rate and time for everyone all year long.

Great American Scramble Print E-mail
Friday, 02 May 2008

The four-man scramble is one of the most enjoyable formats for team competition in golf. After all, finding one decent shot out of four is a welcome proposition to many golfers. Beginning this spring, golf clubs across the country will be able to compete in The Great American Scramble and vie for the coveted title of National Champions in Las Vegas.

After the longstanding Buick/Oldsmobile Scramble shut down in 2005, golfers were left without a national scramble competition. PGA Professional Wayne Stone decided to change that. Stone created an event aimed at bringing excitement, camaraderie and team-building experiences back to golfers through the scramble format.

Stone, who is the director of Golf at Windermere Country Club in Windermere, Fla., decided there was enough interest to create a national scramble just by gauging the response of his members to the loss of the Buick event. Encouraged by the feedback, Stone set out to create the national tournament that was currently missing from the golf world.

Encanterra – A Trilogy Counry Club, AZ When you catch your first glimpse of the Valley’s newest golf course – Encanterra, A Trilogy Country Club – the thing that strikes you is just how green it is. True, it’s a golf course. It’s supposed to be green. But, most courses built over the past few years, seem almost bashful about that fact by comparison. Not Encanterra. It just unfolds in front of you. Wave upon wave of emerald fairways accented by trees, flowers, white sand bunkers and flowing water.

And, unlike many other modern private Clubs, Encanterra’s membership is not limited to the residents of the community it anchors, and it is not age-restricted.

Rather, Encanterra Trilogy Country Club offers a variety of non-resident membership options with flexible financing, making it an ideal choice for those looking for an affordable private country club in the East Valley that can hold its own against the very best Arizona has to offer.
