Beat the Heat, Better your Game

Eagle Mountain Golf Academy (formerly Platinum Golf Academy) Director of Instruction Derek Nannen feels your golfer’s pain. He also feels the heat of the Arizona summer, and is smart enough to realize that what you don’t need is to spend too much time under the broiling sun, even though it is the Valley of the Sun. That sensibility is behind Derek and his team of five instructors at the Eagle Mountain Golf Academy offering up tailored instruction to specifically what ails your game, “super-clinics” if you will, at their state-of-the-art (and shaded) Fountain Hills teaching facility.

eagle-mountain-academy.jpgIn those clinics, Nannen and his staff can narrow the focus of their instruction to what YOU want to improve, spending less time on the range and possibly more time on the golf course, with wider access to the Golf Club at Eagle Mountain during the summer months. In their popular late afternoon clinics, instructors can spend more energy with their students on course management, shot-making and strategy, all from the “real” lies you’ll  see on the course versus what you find on the range. The flexibility of their offerings go so far as to offer a popular couples clinic featuring Derek and his wife, that often ends in dinner at Eagle Mountain’s renowned restaurant.

Eagle Mountain Golf Academy has always offered more than just swing coaching, with club fittings and personalized fitness training programs a part of many instructional packages, and further segments its clinics by ability level to help pros, low-handicap amateurs, juniors, beginners, and those seeking help preparing for corporate events to keep players of similar experience and ability together.

Nannen, who has played on both the PGA and Nationwide Tours, brings a wealth of teaching experience to the Academy, having worked with Jim McLean, Hank Haney and Jim Flick. And his staff includes five teaching pros who want to work to make YOUR swing better, not necessarily make you learn their swing.
