Visit website The accolades keep coming. Desert Canyon Golf Club was just named “Best Places To Play” by Golf Digest. This honor, combined with Market Surveys of America’s award of “Best Public Golf Course 2005-2008," means that Desert Canyon should be on your golf agenda.
Desert Canyon is a challenging yet playable experience. The course winds its way through wonderful desert terrain up and down the natural arroyos and canyons that occur in the Sonoran Desert. You’ll find tremendous variety in the layout as well: five holes are doglegs to the right; four holes are “left benders.”
Two par 3s are blind uphill approach shots while another, the signature seventh hole, is a dramatic downhiller skirted by bunkers. Players will not want to miss our tribute to the great Scottish courses, so peek into the depths of the front left trap on number eight.
At 397 yards, the finishing hole provides a stern test for all. Playing uphill and into the prevailing wind, making four at eighteen is always something to brag about. With dramatic panoramic views of spectacular Red Mountain, the Four Peaks and the tallest fountain in the world, Desert Canyon is truly a unique golf experience.
